Getting Here

Crescent Spur Lodge is located 160 kilometres east of Prince George, British Columbia, between the Northern Rockies and Cariboo Mountains. Most guests fly into Prince George Airport (YXS), where our scheduled lodge transfer meets the requested arrival flight. The drive from Prince George takes approximately two hours.

Your summer package includes scheduled round-trip ground transportation between Prince George Airport and the lodge. Airline schedules change, so your booking information will identify the flights that coordinate with our scheduled transfer. Please check with us before booking a different routing. Dedicated transfers required for other flight times are not included in the package price.

Guests may also drive to the lodge. Contact our office for directions and the appropriate arrival time before finalizing your plans.

Arrival Day

Once you arrive at the lodge, you’ll have time to settle into your room, meet the team and get organized for the days ahead. All guests complete a helicopter safety orientation before their first day of fishing or hiking, with time to organize program-specific equipment before dinner.

We recommend booking all of your connecting flights on a single itinerary. If a delay occurs, your airline can then rebook you on the next available flight.

Bringing Your Own Fishing Gear

Protecting the remote waters we fish is important to us. If you’re bringing your own fishing equipment, please wash and rinse it carefully with fresh water and allow it to dry for at least 48 hours before packing. Felt-soled boots require particular care, and guests should let us know if their equipment has recently been used in waters known to contain whirling disease.

Fishing Licences

A British Columbia Fresh Water Fishing Licence is required for all fishing guests and is not included in the package price. We recommend purchasing an eight-day angling licence so you’re covered for the full trip. Licences are purchased through the provincial WILD system, which requires you to create a WILD account first. We will provide current licence information and purchase instructions before your stay.

Booking and Insurance

A deposit of 50% of the base package price, plus GST, is required to confirm your reservation, whether you choose heli-hiking, heli-fishing or the combination package. Final payment is due 12 weeks before arrival. All payments to Crescent Spur are non-refundable, and we strongly recommend purchasing insurance.

We strongly recommend trip cancellation and interruption insurance that covers both your deposit and your final payment, along with emergency medical and evacuation insurance for your trip. You can purchase insurance through our office via Sanderson Insurance Brokers and 2GO, or you’re welcome to purchase your own coverage from a provider of your choice.

Release of Liability Waiver

All guests are required to complete a release of liability waiver before participating in Crescent Spur activities. You will complete it digitally, and we recommend reviewing it before your trip and contacting us with any questions.

Internet and Cell Service

The lodge has Wi-Fi through Starlink and cellular coverage through the Telus network. Roaming availability varies by carrier, so international guests should check with their provider before travelling if cell service is important.
